Anxiety and Panic

Anxiety and Panic

Anxiety and panic can feel overwhelming, confusing, and difficult to manage alone. While anxiety is a natural response to stress, it can become disruptive when it begins to affect daily life, relationships, work, sleep, decision-making, or your overall sense of safety.

Anxiety may show up as constant worry, racing thoughts, tension, irritability, difficulty concentrating, avoidance, fear of the future, or feeling like something bad is going to happen. Panic can feel even more intense, often bringing sudden episodes of fear with physical symptoms such as a racing heart, shortness of breath, dizziness, shaking, chest tightness, or a sense of losing control.

It is important to recognize that anxiety and panic are not signs of weakness. They are often the body and mind’s way of responding to stress, uncertainty, past experiences, or feeling emotionally overwhelmed. Therapy can offer a supportive space to understand what is triggering these responses, calm the nervous system, and build tools that help you feel more grounded and in control.

Here’s a detailed overview of my therapy services for anxiety and panic:

Understanding Anxiety Patterns: I help clients explore how anxiety shows up in their thoughts, emotions, body, and behaviors. Together, we identify triggers, patterns, and the situations that may be contributing to anxious responses.

Panic Attack Support: I support clients in understanding panic attacks and the physical sensations that can come with them. Therapy can help reduce fear around panic symptoms and build tools to manage them when they arise.

Nervous System Regulation: I teach grounding techniques, breathing exercises, mindfulness practices, and body-based tools to help calm the nervous system and create a greater sense of safety in the body.

Managing Racing Thoughts: I help clients recognize anxious thought patterns, reduce spiraling, and develop more balanced ways of responding to worry, fear, and uncertainty.

Coping Strategies and Daily Tools: I provide practical coping strategies that can be used in everyday life, including routines, self-care practices, relaxation techniques, and tools for managing emotional overwhelm.

Addressing Avoidance: Anxiety can often lead people to avoid certain places, conversations, responsibilities, or experiences. I help clients gently understand avoidance patterns and work toward facing challenges in a supportive and manageable way.

Exploring Root Causes: I work with clients to explore the deeper sources of anxiety, which may include stress, trauma, attachment patterns, perfectionism, life transitions, relationship challenges, or past experiences.

Building Confidence and Emotional Resilience: I support clients in strengthening self-trust, emotional awareness, and resilience. Therapy can help clients feel more capable of handling stress and uncertainty.

Improving Daily Functioning: Anxiety and panic can affect sleep, work, school, relationships, and personal responsibilities. I help clients create tools and strategies to support greater stability and daily functioning.

Continued Support and Progress: I provide ongoing support as clients practice new skills, process challenges, and build long-term tools for managing anxiety and panic with more confidence and self-compassion.

Overall, my therapy services for anxiety and panic are compassionate, practical, and tailored to each client’s unique experience. Through therapy, clients can better understand their anxiety, reduce fear around panic, develop healthier coping tools, and move toward a greater sense of calm, clarity, and control.
